John,

In promoting a potential reparations bill, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee echoed how many of us are feeling: “I think that in 2021, we want to isolate white supremacy, white racism, domestic terrorism, we want to look at each other as our fellow brothers and sisters.

“I want H.R. 40 to be in the minds and hearts of fellow Americans.”

According to POLITICO, H.R. 40 would “create a commission of more than a dozen experts to review the United States government's role in supporting enslavement of African Americans from 1619 to 1865 from a financial and legal perspective. It would then recommend to Congress ways to both educate Americans on the legacy of slavery and alleviate its harms.”

We believe this is a step in the right direction for our country to atone for its racist history and stymie the white supremacist movement that the GOP continues to embolden. But this bill has been blocked in every Congress for three decades, and we need your support.

Please, help us build political momentum to finally pass this historic bill by adding your voice now:

Do you support reparations for Black Americans?

YES   NO

Thank you for helping us create a better government, and a better country, for generations to come.
