We need all hands on deck, John.

Last week, a catastrophic winter storm in Texas left millions without electricity, heat, and power.

It’s a full-blown climate emergency that has forced families to burn clothing and furniture just to stay warm, stand outside for hours in the freezing cold to receive relief, and go days without running water.

Cori understands the struggles so many families in Texas are experiencing right now because she’s lived it. She knows as someone who has been unhoused and as a survivor of domestic violence that many women are especially vulnerable right now and need our immediate help.

Dozens have already died and many still don’t have access to basic utilities.

Black and brown communities are especially vulnerable in this crisis. They were the first to lose power in the blackouts and will likely be last to get it back. It’s a painful reminder why we need racial justice at the heart of any meaningful climate crisis policy.

How are “leaders” like Sen. Ted Cruz and Texas Governor Greg Abbott responding to this crisis? Well, Cruz went to Cancun for vacation and Abbott went on Fox News to complain about renewable energy.

We weren't kidding when we said the Senators and Representatives who incited violence on the Capitol needed to resign or be expelled. Those who actively incited violence can't be trusted to keep their constituents safe. What's happening in Texas is proof.

If they refuse to lead in this crisis, we will. Can you make a split donation right now to Genesis Women’s Shelter and Hope’s Door New Beginning Center and help them rush emergency relief for vulnerable women and families in Texas? [[link removed]]

Together,
Team Cori
