Hi John,

Last week, millions of Texans braved an unprecedented winter storm that left them without power and water. Now that the weather is easing up, many Texans are still facing long term consequences. Especially those in minority and LGBTQ communities.

If you feel inclined, below is a list of organizations you can support who are working to provide relief to Texans and LGBTQ Texans:

Austin:
-- The Austin Area Urban League (AAUL) is accepting donations to offer emergency support for shelter, food, water here.
-- Front Steps, an Austin-based nonprofit fighting homelessness, is accepting donations here.
-- Austin Mutual Aid is accepting donations via Venmo @AustinMutualAid.

Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area:
-- The Northeast Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross is in desperate need of donations. Please contact director Cristal Prince at (903) 556-5183 or email her at [email protected] to donate; money can be mailed to 821 Spruce St., Texarkana, Texas, 75501 and will be used locally.
-- The North Texas Food Bank is accepting donations here.
-- Feed The People DTX Mutual Aid is accepting donations via Venmo @FeedthePeopleDallas.

Houston:
-- Lucille’s 1913 Community Kitchen, which is currently distributing meals in the Houston area, is accepting donations here.
-- The Houston Food is accepting donations here.
-- Rice Mutual Aid, organized by university students to help Rice community members in need, is accepting donations via Venmo @RiceMutualAid.

Thank you for being a dedicated supporter of Equality Democrats. We’re the grassroots operation behind the Congressional LGBT+ Equality Caucus.

We’re working day and night to fight for our progressive agenda:

To DEFEAT bigoted Republicans
To ELECT Pro-LGBT+ champions
To END Homophobia in our government

DONATE TO EQUALITY DEMOCRATS →

We’ve got a tall task ahead of us…

President Obama: One election won't eliminate racism, sexism, or homophobia.

President Obama is SO right. And that’s why we email you so often -- your grassroots support is what’s going to drive us to victory.

Without you, we’ll fail and bigoted Republicans will
win. We can’t let that happen!

DONATE TO EQUALITY DEMOCRATS →

Unlike Republicans, we rely on the power of grassroots donors. Our average online donation is $10.63. And every cent we raise goes towards defeating homophobic Republicans and electing pro-gay Democrats.

Emails like this one are crucial to winning this year. But we know you receive a lot of emails in your inbox, so if you’d like to receive fewer emails from us, you can click here.
