John,
2020 was a gut punch of a year.
The virus upended every aspect of our lives –– and the ripple effects of the pandemic continue to wreak havoc for our communities and the small businesses who put it all on the line to keep them moving forward.
But there is one silver lining in all of this, John.
Despite all the hardship, we’re seeing incredible examples of hope and generosity thanks to grassroots charities and efforts like the Barstool Fund.
Thanks to the help of our MVP Aaron Rodgers, the Barstool Fund has raised over $36 million to help hundreds of businesses keep their doors open through the pandemic –– including two bars in Northeast Wisconsin that deserve all the support they can get right now!
Check out their stories below and add your name to show your support for small businesses here.
Burkel’s One Block Over – Green Bay, WI Just one block away from Lambeau, Burkel’s is normally filled with diehard Packers fans on any given game day –– but this past season was a different story.
With fans at home during the Safer-at-Home orders, Burkel’s took a major hit, and that inspired Aaron Rodgers to get off the sidelines to help –– pitching in to the Barstool Fund to help keep the local restaurant’s staff on payroll and the doors open. The Abbey Bar – De Pere, WI
The owners of the Abbey Bar are locally known for giving back to their community –– even leading pay-it-forward programs for frontline workers at the height of the pandemic when they themselves were struggling to make ends meet.
That’s why the Abbey was selected as one of the very first businesses to be sponsored by the Barstool Fund, and with their support they’ll be able to keep serving De Pere like they’ve always done. John, the Barstool Fund is just one example of our community rising to meet the moment -- faster than any government program or federal stimulus agreement. The stories of these business owners fighting to overcome the challenges imposed by the pandemic show just how resilient Wisconsinites truly are.
That's why Mike is continuing to put it all on the line in Washington to make sure places like Burkel's and The Abbey will bounce back better than ever from the pandemic.
Will you join Mike in standing with small businesses by adding your name to show your support?
Thank you, Team Gallagher
