Aspen Institute Public Health Grand Rounds
This Wednesday, Dr. Christine Moutier, AFSP’s Chief Medical Officer, will be participating in the panel discussion “Suicide Prevention During COVID and Beyond,” as part of the Aspen Institute’s Public Health Grand Rounds series. The conversation will consider the impact of the COVID pandemic on the mental health of the U.S. population, and focus on the critical steps for mitigating suicide risk during these unprecedented times. The presentation will also include recent CDC suicide data, with reporting on those data collected during the pandemic.

Dr. Moutier will be joined by:

  • Rebecca Ruiz (Moderator), Senior Features Writer at Mashable, who frequently covers mental health, science, parenting, and politics for Mashable's Social Good coverage.
  • Debra Houry, MD, MPH, Director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at CDC. In this role, Dr. Houry leads innovative research and science-based programs to prevent injuries and violence and to reduce their consequences.
We hope you will join us at 1 p.m. ET, Wednesday, February 24 on Zoom.
