In their recent report ([link removed]) , Steven Camarota and Karen Zeigler explain that the latest Census data does not support the widely cited argument that the United States desperately needs immigration because Americans are not having "enough" children. The 2019 American Community Survey shows that the fertility of both native-born and immigrant women continues to decline, with the fall-off being more pronounced among immigrants. In fact, 2019 was the first year in which average immigrant fertility (legal and illegal together) dropped below the 2.1 per women replacement level. As a result, the presence of immigrants in the country has only a modest impact on overall fertility. There is also some evidence that the presence of immigrants may lower the fertility of native-born women.

Amnesty: Comprehensive or Piecemeal? ([link removed])
By Mark Krikorian
National Review, February 18, 2021
Excerpt: The Democrats’ latest comprehensive immigration reform bill was finally introduced today in the House and Senate. The measure, outlined by President Biden on his first day in office, is a parody that almost makes the Gang of Eight legislation pushed by Obama look moderate.

By Todd Bensman
Many Americans might have felt surprised by recent news that the U.S. Border Patrol in Arizona caught 11 Iranian migrants who crossed the southern border from Mexico. But this crossing is not surprising in one insular quarter: an international cadre of intelligence and law enforcement officers who work on this chronically misunderstood threat for the American homeland security establishment.
Immigration Newspeak II — USCIS Edition ([link removed])
By Rob Law
While replacing the word "alien" is silly and unnecessary, if Congress changes the law then so be it, that is the proper way of making change. However, Biden's deputies at DHS have taken it upon themselves to preemptively trash statutory language in favor of activists' preferred lingo.
Biden Limits on Immigration Enforcement Are Much Worse than Even Obama's ([link removed])
By Andrew R. Arthur
Obama-era policies, and in particular the Johnson memo, set a dangerous precedent for the non-enforcement of the immigration laws of the United States in the name of prioritizing scarce ICE resources. The Pekoske memo and ICE's proposed guidance are much, much worse.
DHS to Admit Aliens in 'Remain in Mexico' Program, and Promises It Will Let in Others Later: Details are sketchy, but you better like frog soup, because it looks like Biden will be 'gigging' the law ([link removed])
By Andrew R. Arthur
DHS announced that it would begin admitting the approximately 25,000 foreign nationals currently in Mexico under the Migrant Protection Protocols, starting on February 19. The details are sketchy, but the Biden administration promises that more aliens — perhaps many, many more — not subject to MPP who don't have permission to enter will nonetheless be admitted in the no-so-distant future.
