Just before his acquittal, Donald Trump proclaimed in a statement that his “movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun."
We defeated Trump in 2020. We elected progressive candidates and defended progressive incumbents across the country. We can absolutely do it again.
But Trump's impeachment and the growing heap of evidence demonstrating his treasonous behavior aren't enough to stop Trump or his supporters. We've seen Sen. Josh Hawley and other Trump loyalists gain even more steam since Jan. 6, and Trump's massive mob isn't dwindling any time soon.
A recent poll conducted by Morning Consult and Politico just after Trump's acquittal found that 59% of Republican voters felt he should play a "major role" in the GOP moving forward, while 54% said they'd support Trump in the 2024 primary.
