John--
Because I know how much you care about reuniting families who've been left in the cold by Trump's cruel Remain in Mexico program, I wanted to make sure you saw my previous email.
Our team is working to ensure families have a warm welcome by mobilizing volunteers at the border and providing essential supplies such as PPE, blankets, and diapers--but we can't do it without you.
Since the weekend, dozens of families whose lives were put in danger by the Trump administration have been allowed entry into the U.S., but this is only the start.
I can't say it enough: We have to be the light for families who've endured the darkest days languishing at the border for their chance at asylum. Donate today to deliver on our promise that families belong together.

Subject: How you can help thousands of asylum seekers at the border--TODAY
John-- we are just hours away from welcoming the first families who have spent *months* trapped by the Trump administration in tents and shelters in dangerous border cities. More than 1,000 have been raped, kidnapped, or assaulted -- and with temperatures dropping this week, families are literally left out in the cold by Trump’s inhumanity.
But my question to you, John, is this: What kind of welcome will we give?
The reality is the Trump administration hollowed the humanity out of the asylum process and Congress is months away from even starting to provide a humane and dignified path for reforming the broken immigration system.
These families fled their homes in fear, and endured the darkest days of Trump’s cruel policies, and what happens next is up to us.
We have to step in and step up. That’s why Families Belong Together is working with organizations at the border to meet arriving families with the care, compassion, and dignity they deserve -- but we can’t do it alone.
Will you make your most generous gift today to Families Belong Together to help our work supporting families who need us the most? Your gift will bolster critical volunteer support at the border to ensure a warm welcome to parents and children, and provide essential supplies such as PPE, coats, blankets, and diapers.
As early as tomorrow, authorities will begin processing up to 300 people a day at two ports of entry and taking even fewer people at a third. Early reports show some border camps nearly doubling in a matter of days as asylum-seekers desperately hope to make safe entry after being left out in the cold by Trump.
Ana Antunez is one parent awaiting safety. She fled Honduras to join her husband in New Orleans with her two youngest children after they witnessed a neighbor try to rape her. Instead, because of Trump’s Remain in Mexico program, she’s been living in a pitched tent for five grueling months.
This week must feel like the light at the end of a dark tunnel, but the truth is, I’m worried we won’t live up to the light parents like Ana Antunez so desperately deserve without your support.
We're hopeful about the Biden administration’s efforts to dismantle the horrors of Trump’s Remain in Mexico program, but we also know we need to turn hope into action if we’re going to welcome asylum-seekers this week -- and keep them out of detention centers. Donate today to support our efforts at the border and help us forge the path to safety for women like Ana.
It’s time to live up to our values and treat people with care, compassion, and dignity. It’s time to be the light for families who’ve endured the darkest days of Trump’s cruel policies. Families have waited long enough.
“Soon” is no longer an acceptable answer--donate today and help deliver on the promise that families belong together.
Thanks for all that you do,
Jess Morales Rocketto, Chairwoman
