John,
Our nation faces a number of national security threats. One that for far too long has flown under the radar is the ongoing cyber war between the United States and our adversaries.
Then, last year – as the pandemic gripped the world, and more and more of American life moved online – Russian cyber soldiers unleashed a piece of software called SolarWinds.
Its hidden virus spread to more than 18,000 government and private computer networks.
It’s an unprecedented attack that continues to this day, with Russian agents accessing digital files at the U.S. Departments of Justice, State, Treasury, Energy, and Commerce.
John is shining a bright light on this preeminent national security threat. He has big plans as the newly appointed ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee.
He also wants to make sure that all of his congressional colleagues know that the American people are watching and demand bold and future-focused action to tackle these threats.
John is urging members of Congress to come together, on a bipartisan basis, to hit the ground running on this a broad range of cybersecurity initiatives.
He knows that the ONLY thing that Russia and China understand is strength, and that we must take a hard line. And they are not our only threats. We’ve also seen cyberattacks against hospitals, schools, and public utilities in recent years, perpetrated by foreign and cyber criminals.
Our federal government needs a highly coordinated response to these threats. The LAST thing we need is partisan bickering, games, and gridlock.
Take just 30 seconds to add your name now.
It’s important that we ALL demand Congress get serious about cybersecurity, and put action and results over rhetoric.
