Hi John,

According to NBC News, “Republicans think school reopenings may be their winning issue in key races in the 2022 midterm elections that could help them recapture the chamber.”

That's why they're coming after teachers unions and deflecting blame for school closures on Democrats, with Mitch McConnell now claiming that unions are the “main obstacle standing in the way of reopening schools.”

Here's the truth: Republicans blocked local aid for school districts under Trump and are still blocking Biden's stimulus plan that allocates $130 billion to safely reopen schools, leaving unions with even more responsibility to protect teachers -- and students -- from contracting COVID-19.

The CDC reports that we are nearing 500,000 COVID-19 deaths and nearly 90,000 new cases are being reported each day. The reason schools are closed is because we are facing a deadly pandemic, not because Democrats don't want children in schools. But today, we need to know if the GOP's false narrative is working.

Please, tell us where you stand:

Do you think that Democrats are the reason kids aren't in school?
