We have important news for you, friend:
As Texans battle brutally cold temperatures and rolling electrical blackouts, Big Oil’s political mouthpieces are hard at work—spreading lies.
It’s no surprise: The misinformation campaign blaming renewable energy for the crisis follows a long pattern by Big Oil, the industry’s bought-and-paid-for politicians, and its associations—like the American Petroleum Institute and Western Energy Alliance—of lying to derail meaningful climate action in the name of corporate profits.
They’re desperate to rewrite the reality that natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy were the primary drivers of the energy failure. Big Oil tried to do a Texas-sized two-step around the truth, but the facts caught up to them, revealing that natural gas energy generation and poor policy decisions were to blame, NOT renewable energy. We need your help to spread the truth.

Many of the same politicians that are regurgitating Big Oil talking points and misinforming the public also took in tens of millions of dollars in oil and gas donations. Steve Daines, who’s taken over a million dollars from Big Oil and Gas, even posted a seven-year-old photo of a frozen windmill in Sweden and shamefully used it to make false claims about Interior Secretary nominee Deb Haaland.
Big Oil and their allies are using every trick in the book to attack renewable energy through lies and misinformation. We need your help to get the truth out there and fight back against these harmful lies.
