With Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s recent announcement of plans to accelerate the pace of COVID-19 vaccines across the Commonwealth, many questions are plaquing employers - Can or should I mandate COVID-19 vaccines for all employees? What are the legal risks if employees refuse to be vaccinated due to a medical condition or a religious belief? Is my business ready to address these issues?

Additionally, the Chamber sent a letter to the County Board encouraging them to define and move forward with a planning process for the Courthouse West project. The applicant, CRC Companies, submitted a Special GLUP Study application in May 2019, and received its Tier I review and Tier II acceptance in November 2019. The change will facilitate a site plan to add much needed housing at this highly transit-accessible location and to bridge similar scale developments in the adjacent Clarendon and Courthouse neighborhoods.

How many times a week do you shop online? Do you still go grocery shopping? You can buy groceries, wine, and even sporting goods online. No need to leave the house ever again! These conveniences have been amplified during COVID-19 as people try to minimize their exposure to others. As the vaccine is rolled out, will people keep these habits or go back to shopping in person? When you shop in person, you tend to buy more but you ALSO don’t typically make returns.
