? Friend ?In a bombshell article, the New York Times reports that the Trump administration is preparing an onslaught of attacks on our most important federal climate policies this summer.

This new barrage against the environment comes on top of two years of rollbacks by Trump's EPA on clean air and water protections, and multiple executive orders from the White House to prop up the fossil fuel industry. But what Trump's cronies are planning this summer is far worse than anything we've seen thus far.

We're already experiencing the impacts of climate change ? and it's hitting low income communities and communities of color the hardest, exacerbating racial and economic inequities. Despite that, Trump is now trying to literally bury climate science, block top-level analysts from testifying on climate change, and alter the way researchers collect and report climate science.

It's a war on the very basis of climate change and our ability to fight it, and we must be prepared to fight back.

In a breathtaking report this year, scientists estimated that we have 12 years left to actually stop the trajectory of climate change or we will face massive disasters ? droughts, extreme heat, widespread famine, and extreme poverty. We simply cannot allow this to be our reality.

But not only is the Trump administration not taking the desperately needed steps to fight climate change, they're also actively working against any and all efforts to solve the crisis. And as the Times reports, the worst is yet to come. Here's what we know: Killing the Clean Power Plan: Already Trump and EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler have announced their replacement of the Clean Power Plan ? our best federal policy to curb climate change ? with a "Dirty Power Scam" that will cost lives, let polluters off the hook, and make the climate crisis worse. Rolling back Clean Car Standards: In a major assault on families in America, Trump and Wheeler are set to roll back fuel-efficiency standards. The transportation sector is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in our country, and without these standards communities will be sicker and families will ultimately pay more at the pump. Censuring climate science: Just last month, it was uncovered that the Trump administration tried to stop a State Department senior intelligence analyst from discussing climate science in congressional testimony. We expect more of these attempts to silence scientists to be uncovered. Blocking climate research: Taking it even a step further, the Trump administration is ordering a stop on one of the most critical parts of climate research: Reporting the future effects of a rapidly warming planet. Without this information, we lose the basis on which we fight for climate change on the federal level. Resisting just one of these attacks would take immense people power ? but fighting off all of this at once is going to take a movement.
