Folks,
America’s working moms aren’t okay, and the facts are staggering.
The pandemic has hit moms -- especially moms of color -- harder than anyone.
They’re in crisis, friends, and they need our help.
As a working mom of two girls, I can tell you that even the luckiest among us, women who can work from home and help oversee our kids’ online education, are struggling.
That’s why we’re asking for you to donate $5, or whatever you can, to Helping Mamas. They provide direct assistance to moms and families in the Atlanta area -- making sure moms have access to diapers, wipes, clothes, and other essential items they and their children need.
Mamas often can’t leave their babies in child care centers without a stock of clean diapers, and for families on the margins, diapers are one more expense that adds up. Families can’t even use supplemental assistance programs like SNAP and WIC to buy diapers.
By ensuring that kids have clean diapers, we take away one barrier to child care -- and that makes it a little easier to help keep mamas in the workforce.
Please, make a contribution of just $5, or whatever you’re able, to Helping Mamas today.
Together, we’ll work to empower moms and women and ensure they have the support they need to get through this pandemic.
Thank you so much,
Sarah
