Last month's violent insurrection at the Capitol made one thing clear to for every American -- we cannot take our democracy for granted. It is fragile and under threat. That’s why I am proud to support New Politics in its latest effort to recruit and empower servant leaders who will put the country first.
This Wednesday, February 24th, at 5pm ET, New Politics will sponsor a panel discussion with three young leaders on the front lines of this struggle: Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. I will moderate a conversation with them on the state of America’s democracy and the critical role that servant leaders have in reclaiming the mantle of patriotism.
As someone who has worked in the White House for both Republican and Democratic presidents, I have seen firsthand how young, rising leaders like these can make a difference. Their conversation should be lively and thoughtful.
