Child Friendly City Programme Lead
? ?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Lead to co-ordinate and drive the work of the Child Friendly City Programme in Nottingham. This is a new role developed to deliver the Child Friendly City initiative.
? ?
The postholder will share and embrace Nottingham's vision of a Child Friendly City. A great place for children and young people to grow up in, be educated in, play in and ultimately work and build their future in. A place where children's rights are valued and widely respected. A city where participation makes a real difference.

The postholder will champion the key principles of children's rights, ensuring that there is effective participation from children and young people, and that their views and opinions become embedded across future planning, policies and practice throughout the city.

We are looking for an individual who has experience of effective and persuasive projects and campaigns. An excellent communicator who is able to work with a range of stakeholders drawing in support and commitment for the Child Friendly Initiative.

Essential Requirements:
* Substantial knowledge of approaches to project/programme management.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully working with internal and external clients/customers.
* Excellent communicator both written and verbal; a strong negotiator who thinks through the tone, method, channel and content that best suits the situation and audience.
* Ability to work effectively, to network and build positive relationships with stakeholders including citizens, colleagues, Councillors and external organisations at all levels.
* Possess leadership skills and have the ability to motivate, lead and inspire others.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing children and young people in Nottingham. Focusing upon the council's future planning and policies, ensuring children's rights are at the core of all our decision-making.
