New variants of the COVID-19 virus like those originating in the United
Kingdom and South Africa, have been found in many countries around the
world, including in the United States.

There are promising signs that many of the vaccines developed will be
effective against variants, but the longer the pandemic goes on, the more
the virus will adapt and mutate — coming back across borders and halting
all the progress we have made. This is why we must tackle the virus at
home and around the world.

It's clear that a domestic-only response to the pandemic will not succeed.
Will you sign our petition calling on President Biden and Congress to fund
a global response to the COVID-19 pandemic?

These new variants have shown us that none of us are safe until all of us
are safe. While the United States is making strides in vaccinating its
population, [ [link removed] ]there are countries across the world that have not seen a
single vial of vaccine and, without funding, may not for years to come.

Dear President Biden and Congressional Leaders,

Please support funding a global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The
United States should lead by example and include robust international
funding in the COVID-19 response package to:

* Protect the vulnerable, support essential workers, and make a vaccine
available to everyone
* Support people worst hit economically
* Strengthen health systems so we’re ready if this happens again
