It’s been over a decade since the Federal minimum wage was raised. During that time, the cost of medical care, housing, college tuition, and goods and services have increased. Meanwhile the pay for working adults trying to make a living has not changed. Americans are working longer hours to make ends meet and receive less in return for their hard earned money. Sadly, many essential workers that have been our country’s lifeline during this awful pandemic are living on wages that do not reflect their value to our communities and economy. Americans agree they deserve a raise - it’s long overdue to raise the minimum wage.
