Hey team,
Last year Gerry and his colleagues in the House passed the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act (MORE Act) to decriminalize marijuana. This is an essential criminal justice reform, as marijuana-related infractions have led to too many people spending long sentences in jail for nonviolent offenses.
Last week, both houses of the Virginia legislature passed marijuana legalization in our state. Now, we must take these reforms to the federal level and decriminalize marijuana throughout the nation.
Sign our petition to tell the Senate to prioritize marijuana decriminalization now!
It is unjust that men and women, disproportionately people of color, spend decades in prison for using a drug that is now legal in many states across the US. It is time to undo the mistakes of the failed war on drugs -- and the MORE Act is the first step forward.
Right now, the timing is perfect to build momentum for this critical issue. Sign our petition to voice your support for decriminalizing marijuana and demand the Senate act by passing the MORE Act NOW!
Thank you for everything you do,
- Team Connolly
