John —

With the pandemic causing many of us to work from home, Manhattan’s once packed office buildings are now practically empty. And this isn’t just our present, but our future as well, as many companies have found that they can save money without sacrificing productivity by allowing employees to work remotely.

Meanwhile, our city faces an affordable housing crisis, and an unprecedented number of New Yorkers are struggling to pay their rent. Do the math, and the solution is clear.

That’s why today I’m calling for New York’s elected leaders to immediately convert Manhattan’s vacant office space into affordable housing! Chip in here to help our campaign fight to make this vision reality. [[link removed]]

This is a great idea, so why haven’t our city’s leaders been talking about it? Well, converting Manhattan office buildings into affordable housing would be an enormous undertaking. It would require dealing with endless red tape and butting heads with powerful real estate developers — something many of New York’s politicians lack the boldness and experience to do.
I know how to navigate the city’s bureaucracy and red tape, and I am not afraid to take on developers. Also, unlike other politicians, I've refused all contributions from developers, so I don’t owe them anything. As your next Borough President I can make this bold vision for our city a reality, but I need your help first.

Our campaign’s fundraising is at risk of falling behind — so please chip in now to help put our campaign back on track and help me fight to bring affordable housing to Manhattan! [[link removed]]

Keep fighting!

Don't forget — because of NYC’s Matching Funds Program, all donations from NYC residents are matched 8 to 1 by the City. So $25 becomes $225!
