Friends,

Right now, my Democratic colleagues and I are laser-focused on passing a COVID relief bill.

It is vital that we pass this legislation that includes an extension of unemployment benefits, more direct cash payments, rent and mortgage subsidies, money for small businesses, aid for states and localities, a minimum wage increase, funding for vaccines, and more.

Our goal is to get this bill across the finish line as soon as possible, and once we do, the question at the top of my mind is: "what next?"

So I want to hear your thoughts. What do you think our top three priorities should be? We campaigned on an aggressive agenda, and we want to start right away.

My north star in the work ahead is to get justice and equity for the most vulnerable. This job is about making sure everyone in America has the chance to thrive.

There's a lot we have to do to bring about that brighter, safer and more prosperous future for the next generation.

The crises we face today are compounding, so our progressive agenda must be intersectional. It also must be ambitious enough to solve the challenges we face. There is no time for incrementalism. So think big and bold here.

Please take a minute to complete our issues survey on what our top three priorities should be in Congress after we pass coronavirus relief. It's important to me to hear what you want us to focus on in Washington.

Thank you!

Ed Markey
