My number one priority in Congress is putting Americans and American manufacturing to work.

Like a piece of high-quality, American-made steel, our nation’s industrial and manufacturing sectors are durable, resilient, and able to withstand the test of time. This is true because of the people who stand behind them -- people like you and me. 

And the best way to support these industries and the people who work in them is by making sure that the US government is buying American-made products.

Buying American-made products creates jobs for hard-working Americans, enriches our manufacturing industries, and strengthens our economy as a whole. Because our industrial and manufacturing sectors are the backbone of American prosperity. 

Strengthening and expanding Buy American requirements is one of the real, tangible measures we can take to promote American industry and manufacturing, and to protect jobs here in the United States. That’s why I’m proud to support President Biden’s executive order on Buy American requirements.  American taxpayer dollars must be used to support American workers.

And as the Co-Chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus, I will continue to seek out opportunities to support workers and enrich our manufacturing industry here in Northwest Indiana.
