According to AXIOS, Puerto Rico's governor expects Congress to act on Puerto Rico statehood within the next month -- and advocates fighting for Washington, D.C. statehood are more hopeful than ever now that Senate Democrats have reintroduced statehood legislation.
But none other than the Senate Grim Reaper Mitch McConnell has publicly objected to statehood, threatening that “after Democrats change the filibuster, they're going to admit the District as a state. They're going to admit Puerto Rico as a state. That's four new Democratic senators in perpetuity.”
After subverting the voices of millions of Americans by letting Trump walk in the Senate, McConnell is doing everything he can to stop millions of tax-paying American citizens from getting the proper representation they deserve in Congress.
