Federal politicians are getting another pay raise in 40 days. It’ll happen automatically. Unless the boss says no.

And you’re the boss.

You and thousands of other Canadian Taxpayers Federation supporters shamed hundreds of members of Parliament and senators into donating last year’s raise to charity. That’s right, they took automatic raises of $3,700 in the darkest hours of the pandemic and pretended they couldn’t change the law to stop it. So you made them give the money to good causes.

This year is different. MPs have lots of time to fix this.

But unless you do something, they’re going to get another raise this year.

As politicians, they have the power to change the law and stop the automatic raises when taxpayers are hurting. They just need the boss to make them do it.

And that’s where you come in.

Politicians work for you. You’re the boss. Politicians know they could be in an election at any time, and they could lose their $182,600 salaries if you’re not happy with them, so they need to listen to you.

Canadians are still hurting. Businesses are still closed, unemployment remains high and many Canadians are afraid they won’t be able to pay their bills. You shouldn’t have to pay for politicians to get raises while all that is happening.
