As best we know, 57 Republican local elected officials were present at the January 6 “Stop the Steal” event in Washington DC.
By Daily Kos' count, only TWO of them have had the sense to resign. The rest are still in office.
There's one surefire way to make sure they get kicked out for good: Beat them at the ballot box.
The progressive organization Run For Something reports that more than 6,500 people signed up with their organization in the wake of the Capitol insurrection. That's a groundswell unlike any we've seen in recent memory, and it's a golden opportunity to make sure these Republicans see the backlash they deserve.
We're focusing our own efforts on the dozens of GOP senators and representatives who tried to overturn our presidential election and provoked the insurrectionists -- and with this much momentum, we know we can succeed. But with 74 million Trump voters still out there and millions of dollars stashed away in pro-Trump dark money organizations, we need EVERY committed Democrat behind us if that's the route we're going to take.
So here's the question -- do you want to see us kick every last traitor out of office for good?
