Muslim Community loses a fierce advocate for Palestine AMP joins Muslim-Americans in grieving the demise of Prof. Agha Saeed after a decade long illness. Prof. Saeed was a pioneer in advancing the idea of political education and grass roots organizing for the empowerment of Muslims and Muslim organizations. He founded and led several organizations including the American Muslim Alliance (AMA) and the American Muslim Political Coordinating Council. Prof. Saeed's contributions are myriad but he is mostly remembered as a strategic thinker, a prolific writer and a tireless worker in bringing together Muslims and Muslim organizations for the greater good of America.
Prof. Saeed was a fierce advocate for the freedom of Palestine and never shied away in speaking about the complicity of the United States in the Israeli occupation of Palestine. "The history of Muslims in America shall remain incomplete without the life and legacy of Prof. Agha Saeed," said Dr. Osama AbuIrshaid, Executive Director of AMP. We ask that God forgive his shortcomings and reward him for all the good he did for others. Indeed, we come from God and to Him we all return. Sincerely,
American Muslims for Palestine
