You don’t know me, but my name is Ruth Montague. I’ve supported Michael Bennet since he took office and I helped flip Colorado blue by recruiting friends and neighbors to write postcards to support John Hickenlooper in 2020.

Washington has become so gridlocked with partisan inaction over the past few years — but when Democrats won the majority, I felt hopeful that things were finally about to change. Heck, I let out a deep sigh of relief. I’m sure many of you did, too.

But now, Mitch McConnell and Republicans are more determined than ever to take back the Senate and regain their grip on power in 2022 — and the worst part of it is, they stand a good chance of doing so.

Look, I don’t want to go back to the days of worrying about Republicans threatening to take away our health care or watching them carve up our public lands. We’ve worked too hard and fought for too long to get to this point.

So, I decided I couldn’t sit on the sidelines anymore. I called up Michael Bennet’s office and made a $50 monthly donation to his re-election campaign. In fact, I became their very first monthly sustaining donor for this election.

You see, Michael’s campaign is fueled by people like me and you — hardworking Americans chipping in whatever they can to make a difference in a movement we all believe in.
