[[link removed]] John,

We’re fighting to shut down animal sales on Craigslist
[[link removed]] and stop the suffering and death of animals exchanged over the platform. I know
you want to help as many animals as possible, and {salutation~First Name or
Friend}, that’s why I’m asking for your strongest support today. Because if we
can pressure Craigslist to change its policies and stop allowing the sale of
animals, we can save countless lives.

Though Craigslist has officially banned animal sales, animals are routinely sold
on its platform. Farmed animals, dogs, cats, lizards, snakes, and more continue
to be advertised and purchased on Craigslist under the guise of “re-homing”
them, which is still somehow permitted. And these animals often meet a terrible end.

Unethical breeders, puppy- and kitten-mill operators, and animal brokers are
exploiting Craigslist’s “rehoming” loophole to sell critically ill animals, who
often suffer and die, as well as to dupe families into paying “adoption fees”
for animals they never receive. STOP THE SUFFERING
[[link removed]] Some ads on Craigslist are blatant attempts to acquire dogs for dogfighting or
other animals to use as bait animals in dogfighting rings. Other ads leave
horses vulnerable to kill buyers who acquire them for the purpose of selling
them in other countries for slaughter and human consumption.

Craigslist’s current policy not only puts countless animals in danger, but also
places consumers at risk of purchasing unhealthy, nonexistent, or even stolen
companion animals.

Craigslist can end the exploitation of animals by banning the transfer of all
animals on its website. That is why the Animal Legal Defense Fund is pressuring
Craigslist executives to do the right thing and protect animals and people by
shutting down sales, but we need your help. Please donate now to help stop animal transfers on Craigslist, save innocent
lives, and win justice for victims of animal cruelty.
[[link removed]] Thank you! For the animals,

Stephen Wells
Executive Director
