John: We have some reassuring news.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has announced that Congress will move to establish an independent commission to investigate the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6, including facts “relating to the interference with the peaceful transfer of power.”

We're proud to stand by Pelosi's bold leadership and commitment to preserving our democracy. In voting to protect and absolve Donald Trump of his incendiary actions, Republicans have failed the American people and sold out their own colleagues for political gain.

While the facts are clear, this will be an uphill battle. Establishing an independent committee will require bipartisan support, and Republicans have unsurprisingly expressed their opposition.
