John — I am suing Donald Trump. And Rudy Giuliani. And the Proud Boys. And the Oath Keepers.

These people and radical fringe organizations plotted a collective plan to prevent Congress from conducting its constitutional duties in certifying Joe Biden as the winner of the presidential election.

This behavior was and is against the law.

Just because cowardly Republicans refused to convict Trump in his impeachment trial, doesn’t mean we don’t have other means to hold him accountable.

Donald Trump incited a race riot on January 6th. It wasn’t an accident. He was building up to it for months by spreading the “Big Lie” that the election was stolen by accusing Black voters in the cities of Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, and Milwaukee of rigging the vote.

Justice may be delayed, John, but it will not be denied. Donald Trump must pay for what he’s done to our great country.

I am proud to be joining this lawsuit along with the NAACP, Rep. Bennie Thompson, and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman. But there is no question that this means radical right-wing extremists and Trump Republicans will do everything in their power to silence me and defeat me in 2022).
