Hi Global Citizen,
In this week’s episode of ACTIVATE, we saw Bonang Matheba work to persuade
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to commit to invest $822 million toward
menstrual health and hygiene. She also visited a school where the Always
Keeping Girls in School program is providing menstrual health education and
sanitary pads. We also saw Gayle King and Priyanka Chopra Jonas join the
campaign to keep girls in school. The episode ended with a commitment from the
President Ramaphosa at Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 in Johannesburg
last year.
