Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is resurrecting the Obama-era initiative of implementing high-speed rails across the country, that fantastic dream might just soon become a reality.
We agree with Pete -- our country has the potential to be a world leader not only by developing a greener high-speed rail system but also by investing in an abundance of sustainable, eco-friendly infrastructure.
Unfortunately, just like in the Obama administration, Republicans are once again promising to block any environmentally sustainable progress Democrats are trying to create. No longer can we allow the GOP to block the initiatives our country so desperately needs.
Now is the time to replace the selfish and regressive Republicans in Congress with progressives who truly want what is best for Americans -- we can do it together. 2020 showed us how just powerful Democratic organizing can be, but we can tell Americans are losing steam quickly, and we can't afford to give up now when we've come this far.
Progressive Majority knows that the only thing standing between our country and a greener future are the corrupt GOP representatives who sabotage our country's future out of spite, but if we fail in replacing these backward GOP members with environmental champions, then our opportunity for a greener future is gone.
