Thank you to everyone who helped with today's distributions! Solidarity is what will get us through every crisis.
There's another distribution scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, 2/20, and we need all hands on deck. Mutual Aid HOU and Say Her Name have plenty of funds — what we need now is people power!
We'll be at The Summit Apartments at Hirsch Road, 6603 Hirsch Road 77026, starting at 11:00. Wear red and meet at the pavilion! Here's what you can do to help:
- Go to the store and purchase supplies! Save your receipt, and we'll get you a form to be reimbursed by Mutual Aid HOU. You can drop-off and go, or stay to help more. (11am onward)
- Knock doors in the apartment complex to tell residents we're there with plenty of goods. (11-12)
- Unload cars with supplies from comrades! (11am onward)
- Help sort the supplies as they come in (11am onward)
- Help residents "shop" at the distribution as many needs may come up - help navigating, help carry supplies back to apartments, and so on.
- Help clean up (2pm)
We've got the money from out of town—now we need local help to get food and supplies into people's hands. Meet up with us at the site for quick training on what to do. If you've got questions, ask 'em on Mattermost, our internal chat platform.
