It is devastating to witness my hometown of El Paso and communities across Texas suffer in the aftermath of a brutal winter storm that has left the state in crisis and in need of our immediate help.

In the midst of a pandemic, the people of Texas, especially communities of color, are experiencing unprecedented freezing weather and power outages.

Many families are without food, water, and heat — forced to sleep in their cars or seek shelter to find warmth. It is unclear when power will be fully restored, and unfortunately, because of these harsh conditions, over 40 deaths have already been reported.

This is a dire situation that needs immediate attention.

Organizations like Coalition for the Homeless of Houston, West Fund, and the North Texas Food Bank are on the front lines doing everything they can to assist Texans impacted. But they need our help:
