Hi John, Black History Month is a reminder of both the courageous stories of Black Americans throughout history and of the work still left to do for racial justice in this country. Last week I wrote to you to highlight the important work the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund is doing across the country. But much like the fight for racial equity, the NAACP's work takes place on multiple fronts big and small across the country. So today, I want to put a spotlight on all that our local NAACP conference is working on right here in WA-01. The Alaska Oregon Washington State Area Conference of the NAACP works to protect voting rights, enhance health care, fight for economic sustainability, and make progress on so many other issues in our community. We are facing so much right now -- including an ongoing pandemic that disproportionately affects folks of color -- and it's more important than ever to support our local NAACP and help provide the resources it needs to protect our Black community members. Will you help support WA-01's local NAACP conference in its fight for racial equity? Change starts right here at home, and it starts with us helping our neighbors. During Black History Month, we are reminded that those of us from historically privileged groups have a moral imperative to support our neighbors who have historically been shut out from opportunity. That's why today I'm asking you to support our local NAACP conference and their ongoing efforts to build a strong and safe community for everyone here in Washington. Their work strengthens our entire community. You can give to WA-01's local NAACP right here. Thank you, Suzan DelBene PO Box 477, Kirkland, WA 98083
