John,
Over this past week, I’ve been heartbroken by the images coming out of Texas. Folks all across the state are struggling with devastating power outages, freezing temperatures, and water shortages. Millions have suffered over the past week. Many have lost everything, including loved ones.
I’m writing this email to ask you to support our friends in the Lone Star State.
On our ActBlue page, we’ve listed multiple food banks that will assist the homeless, houseless, and seniors across the state who need help. These organizations include:
- Central Texas Food Bank
- Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley
- Houston Food Bank
- North Texas Food Bank
- Feeding Texas
Only if you’re able to, please donate to support the food banks that are doing vital work in Texas:
At the time I’m writing this email to you, hundreds of thousands of Texans are without power. For the ones who are lucky enough to have power, many still don’t have potable water.
What’s happening in Texas is not the result of windmills failing, or any nonsense Texas Conservatives claim.
It’s the result of arrogance and a failed ideology that puts profits above the human needs of people.
While some of our leaders jetted off to warmer locations,
looking at you Ted Cruz, we need to step up and send help to our fellow citizens.
In that vein, if you’re able, please donate to support food banks across Texas:
Thank you for helping our neighbors,
Tom Nelson
