For too long, Congress has ceded its constitutional power to declare war to the
office of the president. President Trump’s reckless assassination of Qassem
Soleimani has shown us the disastrous potential consequences of this lack of
congressional will on the authorization of military force.
Last week, with our support, the House passed legislation limiting the
President’s ability to use military force against Iran. Now we are calling on
senators to support the Senate companion bill, S.J.Res. 68, which will put an
end to U.S. military actions against Iran that lack specific approval from
Congress and prevent any further escalations between the United States and Iran
without congressional approval.
Take Action [[link removed]]As people of faith, we serve as the conscience of our country. Let your senator
know you support S.J.Res. 68.
In faith,
