Friend,

I'm reaching out to ask for your urgent help.

A devastating winter storm has shut down power and plumbing for millions of Texans. Many families have gone without food or water for days, and now we're even hearing increasing reports of loved ones dying from cold, fires, or carbon monoxide poisoning as they fight to stay warm.

I love Texas and its people, so I've been continually monitoring the situation and donating to the organizations that are getting the most direct help to people.

If you're able, can you also split a donation between a few of the food banks fighting to feed and shelter Texans all across the state?

Your gift will be split between the following organizations:
- Feeding Texas
- San Antonio Food Bank
- Houston Food Bank
- West Texas Food Bank
- North Texas Food Bank
- Central Texas Food Bank
- and South Texas Food Bank

I will be making additional donations from leftover campaign funds to various Mutual Aid Societies that are doing such great work here.

My family and I went without power for nearly three days, and the temperature in our house fell to 55° F -- which is still a hell of a lot warmer than most people's houses. And I can tell you that it was really scary trying to keep my boys warm and fed. We bundled up and pretended like we were on Hoth (the ice planet from Star Wars) and tried to make a game out of it.

But we were luckier than most, and I know so many Texan families are really hurting right now.

Friend, Texans are generous folks, and they're always ready to lend a helping hand. Well, right now, they need a hand from others.

If you're able to chip in (even a few bucks will go a long way), please split a donation between the food banks working tirelessly to help Texans in need.

Thank you so much,
MJ
