Transportation is the largest source of climate pollution in the U.S. It’s a big challenge, but also a big opportunity. Transitioning to zero emitting vehicles would slash carbon emissions and other dangerous pollution, create jobs and protect our communities.

The Biden-Harris administration is considering steps to promote zero-emitting electric vehicles through executive actions. We need your help to seize this opportunity to accelerate our transition to a cleaner, healthier and more climate-friendly zero emitting vehicle future.

Take action: Email the Biden-Harris administration urging them to take bold action to promote electric vehicles.

This is a historic opportunity to make progress. The future of transportation is electric. The technology is ready today — every major truck, bus and car manufacturer is already developing or investing in all-electric, zero-emission vehicles.

And just a couple of weeks ago, General Motors announced plans to embrace an all-electric future by aspiring to produce only zero emitting passenger cars, vans and sport utility vehicles by 2035.

With bold executive action, the Biden-Harris administration can accelerate the electric vehicle revolution. Among other things, this will:

• Slash climate pollution and other harmful emissions,

 

• Protect our communities — particularly communities of color and lower-income communities, who are disproportionately exposed to transportation pollution due to a historic legacy of disenfranchisement and structural inequity, and

 

• Create more than one million jobs, boost our domestic manufacturing base and make American businesses more globally competitive.

We are setting the ambitious and achievable goal of ensuring all new cars will be zero polluting by 2035, and all new trucks and buses to be zero polluting by 2040.
