Every day, there is a clash over what direction America should move in as a country. Attorneys General play a crucial role in this process. Here’s a recent example:

On day one of the Biden Administration, the Department of Homeland Security issued a 100-day moratorium on all deportations across the country so that his administration could review policies to determine their continued vitality. Within hours, Republican Attorneys General drafted a lawsuit. Leading this effort was Texas AG Ken Paxton — the same Attorney General that sued over last year’s election results in an attempt to undermine our democracy.

In response, Attorney General Aaron Ford joined a coalition of 16 other Attorneys General in filing an amicus brief in defense of the Biden Administration. They argued that AG Paxton’s suit was unlawful and presented severe challenges to immigration enforcement in Nevada and all over the nation. Paxton’s lawsuit was a clear attempt to hamstring the current Administration’s work and prevent it from carrying out the wishes of millions of voters.

While the case continues to develop, Attorney General Ford is committed to doing what’s right. He will take legal action against any person or entity that is causing harm to families in Nevada, and that includes other Attorneys General who are filing frivolous lawsuits in court.

Now, we can’t state the importance of having the right person as Nevada’s Attorney General. Ford’s predecessor sued the Obama Administration and attempted to repeal key provisions of the Affordable Care Act. We know that working families in Nevada can’t afford another AG like that again.
