Hey John!

We are Denae and Edem, two undocumented Black entrepreneurs and activists from California. Today, we are super excited to share with you the launch of our project — BIG Talent.

Check out how BIG Talent celebrates our communities here!

Historically, Black immigrants have been virtually invisible to programs aimed at supporting immigrants. Then COVID struck, and now, our businesses and communities face even more uncertainty.

Supported by Immigrants Rising’s Entrepreneurship Fund, Black Immigrants Got Talent (BIG Talent) celebrates the journey, the drive, and the resilience of Black immigrants regardless of status. We’re collecting the stories of the work and the entrepreneurial spirit of Black immigrants and providing a small grant in a showcase of their work. Visit BIG Talent for more information.

This Black History Month, we’re excited to document and uplift the Black history unfolding before our eyes. Even if you’re not a Black immigrant entrepreneur yourself, can you forward this email to 3 of your friends so that we can reach immigrant Black entrepreneurs far and wide?

With gratitude,
Denae & Edem

This project is made possible because of support from Immigrants Rising’s Entrepreneurship Fund.

Founded in 2006, Immigrants Rising transforms individuals and fuels broader changes. With resources and support, undocumented young people are able to get an education, pursue careers, and build a brighter future for themselves and their community.
