GOP County Chair joins call for Cuomo Impeachment, 
tells Democrat Assembly Members to “Publicly stand up to Andrew Cuomo, or cower to his bully tactics”

Buffalo, NY - Chairman Karl Simmeth calls for Western New York’s Democratic Assembly members to join in the impeachment fight against governor Andrew Cuomo. The Republican Assembly Caucus has announced a path to impeachment has been drafted and will be brought against Andrew Cuomo. 

 

Chairman Karl Simmeth said, “The death of seniors across New York is too critical of an issue for partisan division, horse-trading favors, or scared politics. I am asking each local member of the Democratic Conference to state their position publicly on the impeachable offense of Governor Andrew Cuomo. You all campaigned for ‘Ethics’ and against ‘corruption.’ Right in front of you is a real crisis, a real scandal from the highest levels of New York State. Andrew Cuomo’s Executive Order forcing Covid-positive patients to be admitted to nursing homes directly caused the death of thousands. Thousands of New Yorkers, including friends and family right here in Erie County.”

 

“This isn’t a partisan football. Democrats across New York State showed courage and are joining the call for the impeachment of the Governor. This is your moment of truth. Will you publicly stand up to Andrew Cuomo, or cower to his bully tactics? You all received hundreds of thousands of dollars from Andrew Cuomo’s Albany in the last election. Was that all it took to buy your silence?”

“These men and women were elected to represent Western New York. I am calling on members of the media to press these two questions – do you believe Andrew Cuomo’s cover-up was wrong? Will you join the bi-partisan call for Andrew Cuomo’s impeachment?”
