Reading the diary of a middle-class professional and family man hit directly by the economic devastation of the Great Depression feels uncannily like reading a modern-day newsfeed.

Of course, there are differences between the situation then and the one now, but the thing that stands out the most is that there is hope for light after the darkness and the struggles.


I think this is one of Fabian's best articles to date. He writes from the heart with such depth and sincerity. Reading this is time well-spent.

There's a lot of fear out there about events over which the average person has no control. It's far more productive to focus on what you CAN control.
