Friend – this is urgent, and I need your help:

After record voter turnout in the 2020 elections, Republican state lawmakers in Georgia and across this country have filed over 100 new voter suppression bills to restrict vote-by-mail, add new bogus voter ID requirements and ban automatic voter registration – all to make it harder for folks to cast their ballots in the upcoming elections.

Our opponents have seen the power of our movement when we organize our communities and get out the vote – so now, they’re trying to change the rules to undermine our constitutional rights and silence our voices. This assault on our democracy is shameful, and we cannot let it stand.

That's why I'm proud that the very first bill I am co-sponsoring in the U.S. Senate is the For the People Act. This pro-democracy reform bill will strengthen the Voting Rights Act and ensure every eligible voter can participate in our democracy – and we must make it law.

Passing this legislation is one of my TOP priorities – and I'm so grateful for the more than 20,000 fired-up supporters who have already signed on to become citizen co-sponsors. The For the People Act will increase election security funding and expand vote-by-mail access. It will stop the GOP from arbitrarily purging voter rolls and help get dark money out of politics. And above all, after years of Republican attacks, it will strengthen our American democracy.
