Conservatives were happy to spend $2 trillion on tax cuts, but oppose the same amount in pandemic relief.

Friend,

In a recent live panel discussion on C-SPAN, EPI's Thea Lee took on the conservative Heritage Foundation, challenging their erroneous argument that a big economic stimulus is wasteful.

Take a moment to watch Thea's interview ([link removed]) that details why the COVID-19 pandemic relief legislation is essential to providing critical relief.

"I wish I heard the same kind of righteous indignation from you and the Heritage Foundation and the Republican Party, when the Republican tax bill in 2017 gave $2 trillion to folks who didn't need it, 85 percent of it going to the richest folks," Lee said, adding, "Across the country people are in tremendous difficulty. Kids are going hungry. People are being thrown out in the street."

Friend, we are fighting to make sure the millions of people who are struggling to make ends meet during this pandemic are not forgotten as Congress negotiates the details of the next COVID relief bill. If you haven't already, click here to send a letter to Congress to make sure they increase to the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit at this urgent time of need. ([link removed])

Thank you for all you do to fight for an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.

Thank you,
