When it comes to COVID-19, we're in a race against time: Vaccinate as many Americans as possible, particularly as more transmissible variants spread throughout the country.
But our state and local health departments and providers—already struggling under the weight of the pandemic—simply do not have the resources or staff to accelerate vaccine administration and ensure its equitable distribution to underserved communities.
We urgently need to invest in public health infrastructure to ensure the fast, efficient and equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine—lives are on the line.
That’s why the first bill I introduced in this new Congress is the Health Force, Resilience Force, and Jobs to Fight COVID-19 Act.
My “Health Force” bill will invest billions in local public health infrastructure and recruit, train and employ hundreds of thousands of out-of-work Americans to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, particularly in underserved communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
