Three years ago, a gunman took seventeen lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

The Parkland shooting should have never happened, and it can’t happen again. While we’ve made progress in the past three years, it’s not enough. This past weekend, I called again for action: it’s time to end gun violence in America through common-sense laws.

It’s crucial that we demand that Congress pass common-sense gun control laws to prevent more promising young lives from being in harm’s way. Will you join me by adding your name below? [[link removed]]

We’ve seen time and time again the horrors of gun violence, and as a member of Congress, I saw its effects inside the walls of our nation’s Capitol. There’s no debate — gun violence is an epidemic. But it can be stopped, as long as we don’t waste another moment.

For years, I’ve argued against the partisan ideology that gun violence is a Democratic or Republican issue, it’s a human one. No child should be afraid to go to school, and no parent should be afraid for them.

We have allies in both chambers of Congress and the White House, this is our moment to honor those we’ve lost. Let’s ensure it doesn’t happen: let’s pass common-sense reform.
