When I first ran for office I knew that I would face my fair share of attacks. I pledged to protect the Affordable Care Act and get dark money out of politics, and national Republicans didn't like any of that.
So it came as no surprise when they funneled millions of dollars to try to stop me in 2018 and again in 2020 -- and it's no surprise now that the NRCC has already named my seat as a top target in 2022.
But last week a Republican super PAC put up a billboard in my district that went beyond the pale:
It's reprehensible that this dark money super PAC is accusing me of putting politics before our kids. Like every parent struggling to keep their head above water during this pandemic, I want my kids safely back at in-person school.
But here's the thing -- nasty, false attacks from national Republicans have never stopped me before -- and they won't stop me now.
