Hello John,
Our chapter is working on a New Member Handbook, and we need you to help us make it as inclusive, accessible and helpful as possible! If you’ve ever wondered what the bylaws are, how Robert’s Rules work, or even what the term “direct action” means, you’re not alone!
Join us Monday February 22 at 7 PM via Zoom to help us create and design the content for this handbook. This is a great opportunity to get involved with Denver DSA, even if you’ve never been involved before! The purpose of this handbook is to make the chapter and all of the work we do understandable and inviting, so all feedback is helpful—whether you joined yesterday or 3 years ago. See you Monday!
CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENTS
✨ It's official: Denver DSA endorses No Eviction Without Representation! ✨
This ballot initiative would provide right to counsel for individuals facing eviction. Sign up to get involved: bit.ly/NEWRvolunteer. Meetings are every Wednesday at 7 PM, email [email protected] for Zoom info.
As you may or may not already know, one of our esteemed Co-Chairs, Kayla S. has had to step down from her position following a personal tragedy. Per the bylaws of the chapter, we're holding an election to fill the vacancy (term ending June 2021). If you are interested in running for the position, please submit your name and a brief statement about why you are running for Co-Chair to [email protected].
Your Steering Committee elected Andrea S. (our former Coordination Chair) as interim Co-Chair. She will remain as Co-Chair until our March meeting—which means our Coordination Chair position is now open! Andrea has voiced her intention to run for the permanent Co-Chair position, so we'll hold an election for Coordination Chair. If you're interested in running, please submit your name and a brief statement about why you are running for Coordination Chair to [email protected].
We still need to elect AT LEAST one more Harassment Grievance Officer! This is a vital position to our chapter. If you are interested in running for the position, please submit your name and a brief statement about why you are running for HGO to [email protected].
🗳️ Electoral committee is currently working on candidate recruitment for the 2021 municipal elections, developing organizing 101 trainings and planning for the year ahead: Sign up to get involved here!
