Last week, Canada's government added the Proud Boys to its official list of terrorist entities, recognizing them for what they really are: a neofascist gang that lifts up the worst Islamophobic, anti-semitic, xenophobic, white nationalist, and misogynistic ideologies.
NPR reports the designation will have real teeth. It'll allow Canada to take financial action against the group and stop support for it “at a ground level.”
So, with their established record of hate crimes and aiding insurrection, why haven't we done the same here? We think that needs to change, pronto -- and we want you to weigh in.
